Marisa Briones, Ph.D.

CEO/Co-founder

Dr. Briones earned her PhD in Molecular and Medical Pharmacology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where her graduate work focused on pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interactions, and mechanisms of drug action. She has over 10 years of extensive research experience ranging from basic, pre-clinical research, translational science, clinical research and clinical trials. Dr. Briones serves as Chief Executive Officer and was Principal Investigator for our SBIR Phase 1 study.

Dustin DeYoung, M.D.

CAO/Co-founder

Dr. DeYoung earned his M.D. from the University of Michigan and is board certified in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, and Family Medicine. He has over 5 years working as a research physician on addiction-focused clinical trials for medication development. Dr. DeYoung treats a high volume of patients with co-occurring mental health issues and chronic pain. He serves as Chief Administrative Officer.

Keith Heinzerling, M.D.

Co-founder

Dr. Heinzerling is board certified in Addiction Medicine and Internal Medicine and is an internationally recognized clinician researcher in the area of addiction medicine, chronic pain, and medication development. He treats a high volume of patients with chronic pain and opioid use disorder. Dr. Heinzerling has been PI and Co-investigator on numerous NIDA- and industry-funded studies aimed at developing medications to treat substance use disorders, giving him experience and expertise with all aspects of the pre-clinical and clinical development of pharmacotherapies.
